    Description

    Inexpensive and Handy Tool for Twisting Wire
    I have a short video posted online showing what I know about this tool - 'fishgrain wire twister'
    The basic idea is that you form an initial loop in the wire by hand, the tag end of which protrudes out the rear side of the plate through the small notch on the one side.
    The running line then runs along the plate, held down by the arch on the other side. You then just rotate the twister around the main line, and the tag end is thereby wrapped around the main line.
    I have had some people tell me they catch multiple fish, amberjack for example, without a failure of the connection they made using this tool. Another fellow who sells an expensive tool for making haywire twists specifically called me out on this product saying you cannot make a haywire with it.
    Bottom line it's inexpensive and a fun way to play around with tackle if you enjoy that sort of thing. It takes some thought and practice to make solid connections using a .95 piece of stamped metal, but the general consensus that I have heard is that it can be done.
    One caution though .. above a certain gauge of wire the tool itself will start to bend before the wire does. (not sure exactly what size that is start to occur)
